What If Gabriel Stayed?

I don't think it would have worked very well at all. Songs like Ripples would have been sung by Phil anyway (at least Tony has indicated that Phil would have sung it even if they found a new singer...

What song you listen when you're depresive???

Of course it would depend on if I was intent of staying depressed or trying to cheer up. Songs like Invisible Touch, Throwing It All Away, Anything She Does, That's All, Abacab, etc. are all pretty...

About Me:
I was born in 1984. My parents claim that I would sit in my car seat at age one and tap my feet to Phil Collins' No Jacket Required - ONLY No Jacket Required. From this very early age I was hooked on Phil's music and the music of Genesis. As I got older I discovered the glorious back catalog of the group in no particular order (I purchased the Lamb and Abacab on the same day). In spite of life-long fanhood, it wasn't until the Turn It On Again Tour that I was finally able to see the group. In similar fashion, Phil's First Final Farewell Tour and Peter's Growing Up Tour were my first concert experiences for each artist. Better late than never, I suppose (My parents left me at home when they went to Phil's Serious Tour 1990. I was 6. I was still angry). The three TIOA Tour dates I attended were some of the more magical moments of my life. I will be forever grateful to the boys for deciding to reunite!

In addition to living and breathing Genesis music I am a die-hard fan of Seattle, WA based sports teams, especially the Mariners and Seahawks. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, but moved to Nashville, TN to go to school at Belmont University in 2003. I miss living on Puget Sound but love Nashville very much. I met my fiancee at Belmont and had much easier access to Columbus (09.22.07), Cleveland (09.29.07), and Chicago (10.02.07) for the TIOA Tour than I would have in Washington!

I Finally Saw Genesis

This was originally posted on October 6, 2007 on a different blog, but I figure that this is as good of a place as any to repost it. If there ever was a topic worth my attention, this is it. Though now that I sit down to type it out I don't even know where to begin. Some approximate statistics of the last two weeks: -I drove nearly 1,500 miles just considering out of town travel. -I spent 35 hours in a car and 3 more on an airplane. -I was in four different states in four days, along th… Continue

Hello and thank you for sharing your "I Finally Saw Genesis" blog. I think that any Genesis/Phil fan would completely appreciate all of the effort, emotion and payoff you went through. I can't even begin to count all of the miles tracked, money spent, time in anticipation or tears fallen from overwhelming emotion. I've driven across and through many states with the words "Arkansas Loves Phil Collins" plastered over my car! They (Genesis and Phil) just become part of your innerself. I'm happy that you "finally saw Genesis." They and their shows are AMAZING!! Take care and good luck with your future Marriage!

Have to laugh at what your parents tell you about tapping your toes to Phil. My son was born in 87, and one of the first songs he would sing along to was "Two Hearts." He loved that "she knows, she knows" bit! (of course, he's not here to be embarrassed.....darn....LOL) Nice to see some youngsters enjoying the "old bald guy." :D
