It was 32 years ago today....

In London, Ontario that Mr. Phil Collins stepped to the front of the stage as the lead singer of Genesis and a legend was born. In hindsight it seems unlikely that a talent such as his wouldn't have found its way to the top one way or another, but who knows. I for one will always be thankful that things turned out as they did. Over the years he has given me many memorable moments.

Hey Craig, thanks for remembering this. Looking back in time I'm glad it worked the way it did. I personally think this is why Genesis survived at all.

Thanks, guys. I've just been listening to a the next night's show and though it sounds as if he's been doing it for years he manages to mangle the beginning of "The Lamb..." when he starts signing, "Suzanne tired.." instead of, "Early morning, Manhattan..." Oh well, he'd get it down eventually.

It's a shame we don't have a recording to celebrate! I remember on the radio show 'The Complete Collins', done back in the 90's in UK -- he mentioned not having a copy of the show (the band apparently didn't record it and PC asked, on the air, for a recording of the gig from anyone who may have taped it. I've never heard of it existing anywhere, sadly....

That's too bad. I'd like to hear it, for obvious reasons, but also to see if Phil (or Mike or Steve who were talking as well now) marked the event in anyway. Most likely they treated it as business as usual.
