Hey, Vijay! Glad to hear it! I guess you're over your cold now, right? I got a carton of cookies 'n' cream ice cream a few nights ago and thought of you and how you dunked your face in your ice cream, haha. :D

Well... I moved 9 days ago into my own place, and overall, it's pretty sweet. I FINALLY have cable and good Internet (got it yesterday), and I can play Nintendo whenever I want without guilt trips! I still have to work on lesson plans, eck. @_@* The thing is I live in an even smaller town than my 'original' town (there are 1,100 peeps here... oh, and me, too), and it comprises of old people and corn... LOTS of corn. I look outside my window and what do I see? CORN. I like corn, but when you see it all the time... it gets a little annoying, ya know? Why can't Genesis be outside my window instead?! ...or the beach... or Genesis ON the beach?! YEAH! :D

Sorry, I'm a little rambly. I haven't seen my friends in 2 weeks, and I'm going crazy. @_@*

Good to see you again! :D

Hi Vijay,
sorry, I'll be quite short now... well, I was very busy in these last weeks, so I couldn't send you any videos (hey, I still don't have the email address! :)), and now I'm leaving for vacation. Rome and London!!! :D
I'll be back on the 17th August, so until then... keep on making plans for that drum thing! ;)
Have a great week, and enjoy the summer!
Vijay.... hmmm... Monica :D

OHH, my... talking toasters and dancing mosquitos?!?! WHOA. That's intense! Are you sure you took COUGH SYRUP? Hee hee. ;) I wish mosquitos would dance and tell me to eat ice cream, but their buzzing screams, "Gimme your blood!" o_O*

WOW. You REALLY wanted that ice cream, didn't you? I guess my threats to come eat it (from, like, a bazillion miles away!) must have gotten to you. Gosh, that's the best way to eat it, too... fast first. ;) Oh, but the brain freezes are AWFUL. Geez, I can't stand 'em either. UGH! You poor guy; I hope you get rid of that awful cold soon. :(

My, and when you talk about ice cream, you are absolutely eloquent! :D (And are you saying Tony Banks is God? lol ;))

Get better, you! That's an order!!! *hugs* ^_^

Oh, no... I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that! You're not old! But you know what? When we do get old and all, we can have the COOLEST walkers and canes in the world! They could have flames running down the sides of our canes, which could be a flamethrower in disguise! And the walkers? Well, they could have a jet fuel so we could get around REALLY fast and chase those darn kids of the lawn even quicker! And the walkers could play music... GENESIS! :D

I know, it's a silly remedy, but it apparently works! *shrugs* Well, I'm glad the Doktor wasn't Doktor Dyper in disguise and offored you some cough syrup. Eck, it must suck to have to put up with the coughing. I know I hate it when I have to, and I especially hate it when I either can't talk or whenever it hurts to talk because I can never sing in the car or anything. :*( You're a good soul... putting up with the cough to save up for the upcoming Genesis box set. I salute you! *salutes* :D

OHHH. It's Cookies 'N' Cream? Oh, my gosh. I am THERE. You'd better get better soon, or else I cannot promise that your ice cream will still be in your freezer. ;)

Hello Vijay,
wow... fantastic ideas for that drum triple! I have a feeling that we are going to realise something very cool, very soon... ;)) Well (just to continue to play with the idea...), webcameras make it easy, and I love also flying! So just wait and see! :D
Now I have some short videos about our drum camp, if you can write me your e-mail address, I send you one of them, wich is maybe the best one. Okey, don't think about nothing special, but this 1-1,5 min video gives you an impression, I hope you'll like it! :)

Oh, just one question... I sent some documents yesterday to our collegues in Qatar, and the contact person's name was also Vijay. Is this a simple english name, or do you have some origine from that part of the world?

I wish you a great day, hope to hear from you soon :)

Hello Vijay,
congratulations to your first drum experience!! :) Don't worry, I think we all started in the same way.. what to do with the hands and feet... no coordination working, week left hand, etc. ... but this is only the beginning, "It's Gonna Get Better"! (actually, I'm listening to this song :)). But I'm happy that you tried it! Now, I'm sure, you'll write me very soon: "I started to have drum lessons!" and "I bought a drum kit!"... :D :D To be honest, I wish you this... :)
Well, about me, I also had a nice drum experience last weekend. I spent 2 days in a "drum camp", organised by my drum teacher. We went out to a "ranch", far from everything (so we could play without limits :)), there was a house with a huge garden. So imagine, about 15 drum kits in a big circle! :) We practiced a lot, different rhythms, and also a band came, so we could play together. It was fantastic!!! You know, I'm started only 8 months ago, so I was a little shy :), but these 2 days gave me so much practice and experience, I'm glad for this occasion. And Dave has just sent me some new Genesis songs (the music for drums), so I can't wait to sit down again to my drum kit and play!!! :D
So... don't wait too much, I'm almost ready to start that drum triplet! ;)

Haha, thanks for not making me feel like a loser about liking a band that's sexy. ;) It's just a win-win situation for me if the music is incredible and if they're cute. The problem is that I was born about 35 years too late. :( *sigh* Oh, well. I haven't heard of Samantha Fox or Lita Ford, but I'm sure I might have heard some of their songs... Oh.. and... don't laugh, but I used to be a huge BSB fan. :-/

WOW... Is it seriously called that? That's great! Haha, I sometimes act like I'm 20... and I'm a whopping 22. :P Hee hee, I miss college. ^_^ I really like that quote. I think I'm going to write it down and stick it up somewhere in my new place for inspiration. Seriously! Thanks very much. ^__^

You know, have you tried pouring Peroxide in your ears when you have a cold? My best buddy does that whenever he even feels on coming on, and it usually does the trick. If you're interested, I could ask him about the details and such. :)

Good luck tomorrow! I hope you get well!!!! Then eat that ice cream! *hugs* :)

Hee hee, you really like your new nickname, don'tcha? :D

Ugh, that cold is still buggin' you? That's got to be aggravating. I'd say a trip to the Doktor is in order. Hopefully he/she will tell you more than "It's just a cold virus; you have to wait it out." That's what happened to me last time (Feb. 14), and it turns out after seeing another doctor that I had the beginnings of bronchitis. Happy Valentine's Day to me. -__-* Yes, don't let the Doktor cut off your "windscreen wiper;" that would be quite painful. :*(

Thank you very much for the encouragement; it's really helped. I like that PG quote, and "Solsbury Hill" has been pretty close to me lately, including "Afterglow" and "Who's Fooling Who," which is a Mike solo song (AVS). I was thinking about the whole thing last night and got uber nervous, so I think I'll just take it a day at a time. Because I have two majors and many interests, I think I will give myself 5 years to see if this is what I want to do forever, and in the meantime I will try to be writing and drawing, etc. :)

Oh, and thanks for joining my group, too! I sort of wonder how I would have reacted to Genesis in the early days if I were around in the '70's, but I think that I would love them no matter what happened. Why? 1.) I would probably grow to appreciate all of them, and 2.) I'm a girl, and they are all very cute and sweet English guys. *shrugs* That may seem like a lame reason, but it is true. What can I say? :D

Well, take care, and feel better soon!!! If that Doktor does anything strange, sic the Raven on him! ;)

Daryl Stuermer interview - audio

Just in case anyone's interested, here's a link to a podcast from AVRant, where Gene DellaSalla (president of audioholics.com) interviews Daryl Stuermer. It's a massive 50-minute interview, chock-full of interesting tidbits.

http://www.avrant.com/?p=316

Some of it does go into a more "technical" realm, as Gene is the president of a website/forum that is devoted to high quality sound reproduction in the home. The overall talk is mostly about Genesis, b… Continue

Funny "brain fart" moment at recent audition

As a few of you know, I'm an actor living in Toronto, Canada. And as an actor, I'm happy to do just about any job: movies, TV shows, corporate videos, live theatre (as opposed to dead theatre), and, of course, television commercials. I had a recent audition for a TV commercial for Tim Horton's, a Canadian coffee and doughnuts restaurant. For the audition, I was playing the part of a construction site foreman who was coming back from a coffee run, and handing out the various coffees to his employ… Continue

Daryl Stuermer at Long & McQuade, Toronto, July 12, 2008

Thanks to the very gentlemanly Dave (Sideshow, that is) who let me know weeks ago, I got the chance today to attend a "guitar clinic" at a music store with Daryl Stuermer! Excited? Oh yeah! I've never met any of the G boys, so this was a real thrill!

I got to the music store, and turns out they had a nice, large room on the second floor reserved for such clinics. A stage at one end, chairs leading up to it, and acoustic panels on the walls to minimize acoustical yuckiness. I entered, paid my $5… Continue

Toronto When In Rome screening -- the good, the bad, and the stool samples.

What a great evening we had! It started, for me, walking five minutes from my workplace to the Q101 radio station offices to pick up my tickets. It had been thundering all day long, but no rain in sight. As soon as I left work, that's when it came down, in buckets! "Someone must have mentioned "Genesis" and "open-air show" in the same breath," I thought to myself, as I walked down the street.

I met up with Andrew (from the official forum -- I don't know his username) at Q101, and we picked up o… Continue

Female Genesis fans and what I've learned about them.

First off, my sincerest apologies if this is offensive to anyone. It's just a blog, easy enough to ignore, but hey, I can delete it, or you can just assume it doesn't apply to you!

Okay, so here's what happened. I was at the Toronto show for the Genesis Turn It On Again tour. I went to the Turn It On Again (the cover band) show a few months ago. I was at the Musical Box show last night. And I'm on this Ning site. And here's what I've discovered about female Genesis fans:

You're all incredibly… Continue
