Novalis - what happened to them then?

I hope maybe some of our German members might be able to help me here:

In the late 1970s I visited Germany for the first time as part of a school penfriend exchange. I stayed in the Baden Baden area with a very wonderful family whose surname was Beutler. My penfriend Britt… Continue

Rick Wright 1943-2008 RIP

Listened to this on the headphones walking to work this morning. Sadly apt, why can't we blow the years away indeed.

Remember A Day (Wright) from Pink Floyd "A Saucer Full Of Secrets"

Remember a day before today
A day when you were young.

Why pay £42.50 plus booking fee etc to stand and talk to your pissed up mate in a really loud voice while Radiohead play Videotape?

Says it all really! I hate these gigs. We travelled a long way to see Radiohead last night and we had to constantly move in an effort to find somewhere where my wife (of average height) could see, but that was also moron free. Unfortunately it took most of the main set. Great band, great gig, but 20% of their fans are complete idiots. I just don't buy the argument that these big outdoor gigs (like Genesis last year) are only done reluctantly as the best way most fans can get to see them. I've do… Continue

Hey Tom, It snowed here two days ago and we expect some more tomorrow. Ot is supposed to be rhe coldest winter in 20 years.

I'll be laid up on the nursing home until the powers that be say I can take care of myself and when I can find a place to live. The economy, the way it is (and here in Washington it's tougher than a lot of places) makes it hard finding a place I can afford. At least I have my laptop and my Genesis records. Peace and Merry Christmas.

Hi Tom, I think that if you bought goods to the value of £100 [as you know, you can safely add a zero on that now for equivilant values], you could exchange your stamps for a piece of plastic tat that was probably worth £1.00 [you can safely remove a zero to determine today's value].

I always wanted a Chopper bike, but you had to buy a Rolls Royce to get enough tickets. I never did get that bike.

The real question, of course, is did anyone ever get a Chopper[apart; from the offspring of travelling salesmen doing an average of 90,000 miles a year: starting to collect stamps on day of the conception of their firstborn's foetus and finally getting the bike for their twenty-first birthday] ?

Thanks for the comment. Talents are good to have but they don't always put a roof over one's head, unfortunately!!!

Like the Trespass/tickets montage.
I would have loved to seen 6-of-the-best and a Duke tour gig!
