The whole thing wouldn't fit in my avatar, so here is my latest creation. I'm Mike's Mechanic!

Yes, that girl up there is an anime version of me. :)
So I took one quiz and got this result...

Am I CRAZY?! o.O* ...Oh, well... They're basically my two favorites... even though I really do love them all. ^_^ I was HERE!!! >:D Create Your Own GraffitiMY MUSICAL HEROES: WHY I LOVE THE MEN OF GENESIS! Many people wonder why the men of Genesis and their music means so much to me. Well, in order to allay the confusion, I will explain just what is so special about my favorite boys. :D

PHIL COLLINS: The man, the legend... my drummin' hero. I have loved and listened to Phil (and Genesis, of course!) since I was an infant, more than likely before that, too (Mom loves Phil and Genesis, too!). There are so many things I love about this man... his amazing drumming, his 'phil-tastic' vocals, his charm and charisma, his sense of humor, and those lovely blue eyes. He is the reason I decided to go ahead and join the band in the 5th grade; I hacked away on the snare drum (and sometimes the bass and toms!) and would practice drumming in my room while listening to "Hand In Hand" from Face Value. His music and lyrics have inspired me to persevere, given me courage when I was discouraged, and helped me celebrate the happy times in my life. And besides, he's left-handed... like me! :D

PETER GABRIEL: Imagination personified is Peter Gabriel. Sweet and shy, this innovative flutist and singer (and drummer at heart) just lets loose and becomes an extroverted genius on the stage. There are many times in my life when I am incredibly shy and meek, which is no good for my profession, but Peter has helped me realize that I can take on a different persona when in different situations and be fearless and innovative. His SO album helped me get through my father's heart attack dealie (he's okay now!!), and I realized that I loved his music on 5/23/05.

STEVE HACKETT: The dark, mysterious (and handsome!) guitarist... Mr. Steeeeve Hackeeeeett!!! I honestly haven't gone too much into his solo work (yet!), but his guitar parts are killer! His guitar gives me that extra boost of energy to get work done or walk faster or whatever it is I need to do at a certain moment. His ingenuity and "eccentricity" helps remind me that I can be myself and be proud of who I am.

TONY BANKS: Who's the man jammin' behind all those keyboards? ...BANKS! :D Again, I haven't gotten too much into Tony's solo work, but I absolutely adore his work in Genesis. He is an intellectual man who doesn't follow the crowd and is incredibly successful because of it. He helps me remember to be proud of my eccentricity, intelligence, and stubborness in refusing to follow the 'popular' crowd.
And FINALLY, last, but CERTAINLY not least, is my sweet "Guitar Hero"...

MIKE RUTHERFORD: To be absolutely honest, I never TRULY appreciated this man and his awesome talents until the night of my very first Genesis concert on October 3, 2007 in Chicago. There was just something in how Mike played those songs that stole my heart away, especially in "Domino." Before I knew it, I was in love! :D Seriously, though, I have listened to Mike and his sweet Mechanics since I was a young girl, and because grade school was quite horrid for me, listening to The Living Years tape really helped me pull through my days, especially "Don't." When I was ostracized by classmates or didn't feel well, I would always remember Mike and would sing those songs, mostly while meandering on the playground/parking lot. These days, even though I love all the guys, especially Phil, it seems, I really adore Mike the most. His bass-work wraps around my frame and holds me tight; his guitar-work soothes me or excites me (depending on the song!); his voice makes me smile; his smile brightens my day, and his lovely blue eyes captivate me. Three cheers for my guitar hero! :D
When you're gonna take the music world by storm, remember to...

Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for Genesis and the inspiration they give me through their music. God bless the lot of them. :)
Don't interrupt him when he's in deep thought!

The foulest mood ever is dispelled when I see this smile...

Whatcha been up to??
I finished my last two law classes Medical Evidence (ugh, thank goodness) and Ethics and Professionalism last week. I'll be graduating on the 20th! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!!! :D I still have my job at the law office, though I don't know for how long. It's an internship, but I asked my boss if it was possible that this may turn into a full-time job after I finish school. He said he thought it wasn't very likely because of the way the economy is going. So until he lets me go, I'm still an intern.
Oh, and you may not remember this, but I remember you once said you were reading a book called "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon. You know, about the boy with autism who tries to find out who killed his neighbor's dog? I've been reading it over the past two days and finished it earlier today. It's a very good book. When I found the book at the library, I remembered, "Oh yeah, M's M said she read this!"
I haven't had any dreams about Phil or the other G men in a while. In fact, I can't remember the last time when I did. Have you had any dreams of them lately? Or any other dreams that you might like for me to interpret? (Wow, it's been a while since I've interpreted dreams, lol. I miss doing that.)
So how's your teaching job going? I'm sure it keeps you very busy and keeps you from visiting here much. Well, I'm sure you have other things going on, too. Now that I'm out of school, I have a little more free time on my hands.....for now.
I REALLY miss chatting with you! I hope you're doing well, and whenever you get the chance, I hope we can chat again. Take care, girl! :)
Hugs,
Lauren (also known as the Quiet One, lol)
