- With all my musical tastes I came into Genesis ina round about way.
As a young teenager I fell in love with Abba's music .. it did not help that I was stuck in a wheelchair folliowing surgery and only possessed 2 tapes.
From Abba .. came Frida's solo album and at teh same tiem becoming aware of Phil's solo stuff. I really started to listen to tracks like 'through these walls' ...
So I asked for HIMBG for my birthday (must have been 15) .. fell in complete love with it and with my birthday money bought Face Value.
A friend at the time said .. if you like this try the real stuff and gave me a copy of Duke .. and i have been a fan ever since. Going forward initially with Shapes, IT, WCD then back to Abacab.
I had tickets for IT in Wembley and could not go. My first concert was PC at Sheffield City hall for the NJR tour.
The turning point was the much hated 92 medley in Knebworth.. it introduced me, essentially an 80's Genesis fan to music I heard but not listened to. I saw them again at Earl's Court and started to go backwards and bought seconds out and then TOTT etc.
Ever since I am an all eras fan but probably love what I call teh 'G2' period best .. so Phil's vocal moving forward but including some of teh wonderful old classics
Ever since I have tried to catch bothg PC and Genesis when I can. I have seen Phil on every tour since NJR and this included FFFT 3 times (London, Helsinki and Glasgow) and then Genesis 6 times in the TIOA tour in 07 .. wonderful memories.
In addition, I love all sort of music .. at the moment mainly listening to Martyn Joseph and Show of Hands. The best new album last year was the Amy Macdonald one which I love.
Other hobbies include being a scout leader, cyclng, trying to be less cuddly (mixed results) etc etc

Great to hear from you - I'm only on here occasionally to be honest. Between work and home there's not much time for much else at the moment it seems!
