Favorite Tony Banks Album: A Curious Feeling

A science nerd who is also passionate about music.

Instruments: clarinet, saxophone (baritone and alto), bass clarinet, some keyboards, a little vocals.

I love to write poetry and song lyrics. I'm a hardcore romantic, with a bit of a skeptical/cynical edge. I believe that life is what you make of it. It's the individual's choice what they want to do. I'm wary of authority, and I hate strict rules. I'm sweet, but I do have my stubborn cranky moments. I'm laid back for the most part, although I do have a fiery inner core. I'm liberal in terms of social issues, but I am traditional when it comes to family.

Tony Banks is my hero, my inspiration, and his music is the music of my soul.

You scored as A Curious Feeling

A Curious Feeling (1979): You are an intellectual always philosophizing the meaning of life, or studying whatever subject interests you. For the most part, you are an ardent person, filled with passion for everything and everyone you love. If you lost what you value, it would be a devastating blow for you. It seems that you may have had a death in the family, or maybe you are even super concerned about your own state of health. In spite of your occasional gloomy attitude towards life, you are a romantic to the core.

Genesis Band Member Personality Quiz created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Tony Banks

You are like Tony Banks. Proper, reserved, dignified, you are the core to the band. Your personality is an enigma to most. At first you may be difficult to get to know and you may be shy with those you first meet. But when you are with friends, you can be a lot of fun. You're an introvert by nature and do not like to put your head above the parapet. You are intellectual and incredibly creative. You have a go against the grain approach to your personality. You are downright determined. Most likely friend types are like Peter Gabriel and Mike Rutherford.

The Existential Quiz
Your Result: You are Nietzsche's UBERMAN!

Literally translated as OVERMAN, you create your own path to happiness. Morality in the traditional sense means nothing to you. You create your own right and wrong. God does not exist in your world and neither does meaning. You create your own meaning and do not need a God to tell you who you should be. You don't follow a path, you create your own path and more over you don't even need a path. You are above all mankind because you do not need meaning, you make meaning!!

You are Dostoevsky's UNDERGROUND MAN!

You are Kierkegaard's KNIGHT OF FAITH!

You are Camus' ABSURD MAN!

Forum broken or just maintenance?

I just tried to log onto the forum this evening, got an error message that said: "Table 'messages' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed." I checked the community section of the official website and got a "this page is under maintenance"

So does this mean that the forum is dead?

If anyone knows what's going on, please let us know.

It appears that size really does matter. Big Big Train have posted a free 23 minutes download at their web site. The track is stunning and features the new vocalist David Longdon sounding very much like Phil in his version of Supers Ready. The track is totally awesome and totally overblown, with brass sections, twelve string mid section, real meletron and loads of special guests. There is some stunning guitar work from Frank Dunnery, and David Gregory adds keys and sitar to great effect. David Longdon also adds some great flute parts to elevate the track to new heights.

The best part is the download is FREE and the quality is excellent.

Hi Krissy - I gather you're pretty keen on TB! Great keyboard player though, I agree, am trying to get into his solo stuff more myself, Tony's a genuinely under-rated very accomplished musician and lyricist in my view. Hope to hear from you sometime.
