Difficult to choose...is it Firth of Fifth, One for the Vine, Me & Sarah Jane. To be honest, Banks' tunes are there to be absorbed into the psyche (excuse the pretentiousness). Because they are musically rich, there's always something in each tune…

About Me:
Born in 1974 which kinda makes me older than 21. I'm a very proud father to Georgia (aged 5). and a very proud husband to Laurie (whose age I shall not mention - it's older than mine!) You may notice the music on this page is stuff that I've done - over the years (the past 16 to be precise). They are what they are, which is demos. I'd love to be able to play like Mr Banks. I'd like even more to have his bank account, but neither are going to happen quickly.

Currently I reside in the UK, but we are looking into emigration - we're looking at NZ and the States.

In the Light/Into the Light

Just added a new tune. Got an electric piano a couple of months ago, and just really getting to grips playing with a weighted keyboard again. In the Light/Into the Light is a tentative title and will change when I get around to writing some lyrics for it. There is a heavily chorus'd version (to give it a kind of TB sound) at the end of the playlist and was added post-recording.

However, it is new rather than some of the reworkings I've done of late. I'm sure there are more tunes to come… Continue

Jerry Jackson

Arik Cotton did this MIDI way-back-when and I did a recording of the sequenced data a number of years ago too. All without Arik's permission, of course - sorry Arik. It was done as a test and the synth used is a Korg 01W/FD. The mix can be a bit raw and is not polished, but it serves as an example of how a MIDI file can sound better with a better instrument than a crappy soundcard. Nice one, Arik!

More New (Old) Songs

Added some new songs. You'll be thankful to hear there's no singing on these. They are all about 10 yrs old, apart from Paradise Instruments which is just a doodle of about 6 yrs old.

Police
This sounds a lot different to how it was first written. Originally a guitar track, it was called Police because the riff at the time sounded something like The Police would do. This version is a bit more layered with a number of keyboard parts that seem to come together as it progresses.… Continue

New (old songs)

Ok! So I've added a few new songs lately (well, only one is a new one). When You're Crying or Can't Sing For Toffee was written back in '98 and recorded around the same time; Korg 01 W/FD, Rockwood bass and some dodgy lyrics and vocals provided by yours truly. Some people seem to like it - I'm not a huge fan, but it's got some nice instrumentation. However, on reflection the music is quite similar (chord-wise) to Road To Hell by Chris Rea.

The second song is a cover of TB's DeaContinue

Tired but not emotional

I've answered on the thread in FOLR, but it's not a case of me wanting little sleep - I just can't seem to get much sleep these days. Add to this that I have to drive 40 miles to work very early in the morning and it's starting to get to me a bit. I'm really beginning to resent my job which pays ok, but travelling expenses kinda mute any benefit over my previous pay package. Sorry! I'm waffling, but that's what lack of sleep does.

I don't have bags under my eyes anymore - I have suitcases. Some… Continue

Hey ! Liked your versions. Keep it up. I particularly liked your One for the Vine. I am having a crack at that one myself so it was good to hear how you interpret it.

Perhaps we could find a way to share tracks. I'm a bassist/vocalist and love to record. I recently bought a 4 track recorder (Omega 3) and am currently getting that up and running. How knows.
Too bad their arent many folks around you to jam with. I know its tough to find good keyboard players where I'm at.

Keep recording and posting and I'll check your site periodically

Great job on One for the Vine man. Care to cross the pond and start a band? Just kidding. Would be nice to find some folks here in the North East that played like that in my neighborhood.

Keep up the good work.

Also, I created two discussion groups check them out too... thanks..
