I don't really see Afterglow as being about an astronaut that returns to Earth and finds everyone gone. I see that it's mostly about some type of war and there's just one man left on Earth and he turns out to kill himself.

Hey Tom I heard someone say on another Genesis board a long time ago that Afterglow was about an astronaut that came home only to find all the people on earth gone. Since then I have visualized that, and I picture the guy committing suicide so he can be with those he misses.
