I agree the bass bomb that Mike drops at that point in Back in NYC is great but just before that is one of my favorite musical moments. There is something about the roll off that Phil does as Gabriel sings :...So I burned it to ash." That sets my hair on end. Particularly in the version of the song that I have on my page.
Another favorite is on "Seconds Out" during Cinemashow when Phil & Bill Bruford are back drumming at full strength. If I had a nickel for every time I've rewound over that transition at 7:44, well.... The power on the other side of that drum fill is pure magic.

Okay - one of my favorites is the very end of "In The Rapids" leading into the start of "It." Gives me chills everytime. ...Something's changed, that's not your face, it's mine...

I was listening to my favorite Genesis album "Wind and Wuthering" in 5.1. I have a chance now to hear things I've never heard before. Anyway, my favorite musical part is the beginning and end of the song,"Eleventh Earl of Mar". It has all the "drama", that Mike Rutheford has used to describe Genesis' music at times. This is Tony's baby, the crescendos of mellotron, guitar, bass and drums, that you can hear beautifully on the 5.1 version, and also was performed so brilliantly when they used to play it in concert. It felt like the whole theatre moved when those crescendo's kicked in, to make it more spectacular were the Lights.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the drums at the end of Afterglow (during the 3SL tour)

Seconds Out Los Endos there's the quiet drum roll bit that builds up into that huge drum ba-ba-ba-ba ba-di-di-da and into the Squonk reprise, lovely.

I love it! I'm checking this group whenever a Genesis song shuffles on my iPod at work so I know what to listen for! :-)
