My ears belong to Genesis

I thought it would be interesting for people to say what Genesis members they've met in person. Also, what was the circumstance?

I've never met Phil, Mike, Tony, or any members of any line up that played on albums, but I did once meet Chester Thompson. He gave a drum clinic at Ward Brodt Music Mall here in Madison Wisconsin, back in '89 or '90. After the clinic, he was signing autographs. He gave me an autographed b&w photo of himself, signed "God Bless, Chester Thompson."

Who have you all met?

Well I know I've mentioned this before in the other forum.

The only G man I've met in person was Steve. A few years back he was doing a small acoustic show at Borders stores across North America (and possibly elsewhere can't remember now). I went to the closest one to me which was in Philly with a ton of vinyl albums (NC to Seconds Out and Steve's first three solo albums). After a Q & A session he played a few acoustic favorites (Bay of Kings, Horizons, Kim, Momentum etc...). Then he stayed and met with every person there and signed a few things for everybody (including all that I mentioned above for me). A true gentleman.

Yeah two interesting stories! I met Mike when a very few (6? 9?) of us made our way to the rehearsal in Budapest before the first show of the CAS tour. Before it started we asked him for autographs as he was going back to the stage from the mixing desk and he was very friendly and signed my ticket for the next night's show.

On this last tour, we actually ran into Chester on a tiny island in the Baltic Sea near Helsinki....got a pic with
him and his wife. Very funny!

Curious both came close to the first show of a tour!

I met Phil on the Phil Donahue Show back in November 1988, thanks to the passes obtained by the U.S. Collins Connection fanclub. During the breaks in between numbers and questions, he signed autographs and I was lucky enough to get my cassette sleeve of BUSTER signed. I still have the VHS tape somewhere of the show!

Cool group!

I met Daryl twice - he was super kind both times and incredibly down to earth. I met Chester and Mike briefly in my hotel the day after the gig in Pittsburgh. I saw Phil from about 10 feet away, but didn't get to actually meet him...did meet Danny though. ;-) Never saw Tony.

"did meet Danny though" Forgive me but who is Danny?

Danny is Phil's personal assistant. He is everywhere when Phil is around.
